Almacantar and joint venture partner, Frogmore, have submitted a planning application to the London Borough of Camden to regenerate Centre Point Tower, Centre Point House, the bridge link and the space surrounding the listed buildings. The regeneration proposal aims to transform what is today, a tired office complex and congested public highway into a landscaped public piazza with a vibrant mix of retail and residential accommodation.
With the arrival of Crossrail, this part of London will be more accessible than ever before. The proposal is designed to breathe new life into a key landmark, securing its long-term future, and providing a pivotal link to Oxford Street, St Giles and Covent Garden.
Commenting on the submission of the planning application, Almacantar’s Development Director, Kathrin Hersel, said: “We are very encouraged by the positive feedback we received at the public exhibition. The revitalisation of Centre Point, with a new public space and an exciting retail and residential offering, would make it a destination that London could be proud of.”
