Almacantar has upped the amenities ante at its landmark Centre Point scheme, unveiling the longest residents’ swimming pool in Central London.
The “dramatic” 30-metre infinity pool is a good five metres longer than those being installed in Mayfair’s crop of super-prime schemes, and affords some fun views over the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street and Soho.
Designed by Conran and Partners, the leisure space has been crafted to “meet the needs of modern, cosmopolitan city dwellers who prioritise self-care and wellbeing”, according to the marketing bumf, enabling residents to “engage with the city on their own terms”.
The suite of “five-star hotel-style” facilities includes a sauna, steam rooms and gym on the pool level, while the second floor houses limited-oak spa treatment rooms, a cinema room, and a club room; a private dining room has also been provided, kitted out with a full catering kitchen for residents to use as they please.
The space is served by a concierge and features bespoke installations by artists including Richard Wentworth, Conrad Shawcross, Gavin Turk and Ceryth Wyn Evans.
Tim Bowder-Riger, Senior Partner, Conran and Partners: “Our design invites residents to be bnoth observers of – and participants in – the city. Protected from the hectic activity of life at street level, they can experience a strong sense of tranquillity in the very heart of London.”
