Recognised as one of the key experts of the Central London property market, Mike has secured a strong reputation through a series of landmark transactions and developments. He is a firm believer in the application of real property skills to deliver lasting value.
Before founding Almacantar, Mike spent seven years at Land Securities plc, the largest property company in the UK, where he was an Executive Board Director with responsibility for the London portfolio and Strategic Land portfolio. He is well regarded in the public capital markets and ran a team of over 200 people at Land Securities.
Prior to Land Securities, Mike was responsible for all property transactions at the Canary Wharf Group, as Head of Leasing and Marketing, where his team transacted 9.3m sq.ft (900,000 sq.m).
Before that, Mike was the youngest salaried partner at Knight Frank, where he specialised in development, investment and large occupier consultancy in Central London. Mike started his career at Edward Erdman.
Mike was an Independent Director of Taylor Wimpey plc between July 2011 and July 2018. He has previously held a number of senior posts in the property industry including Chairman of the Regeneration and Development Committee for the British Property Federation, President of the British Council for Offices, President of the City Property Association, London Board member of RSA and a Trustee of Land Aid, the property industry charity.
Outside real estate Mike is a Trustee of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Governor of Southbank Centre Limited, a Sinfonia Circle supporter for the Orpheus Foundation, a former Trustee of the Photographers’ Gallery, Development Committee member of the Willow Foundation and a key supporter of the London Air Ambulance.
